What people ask us most
Do you take my insurance?
We are out of network with every plan, so you pay for each session yourself and, if your plan allows it, ask for reimbursement. We do not take Medicare or Medicaid. If you need someone who bills your plan, we will gladly give you names.
What is a superbill and how do I use it?
It is a receipt with the dates and kind of session that we give you each month. You send it to your plan to ask for out-of-network reimbursement. Your plan decides whether it pays anything and how much: ask it before you start.
What is a good faith estimate?
If you pay without insurance, you have the right to receive a written estimate of what your care will cost before you start. If the final bill is $400 or more above the estimate, you can dispute it. The estimate is not a contract.
How much does it cost and how do fees work?
Before the first session we give you the cost of each one in writing. You pay at the end of the session, by card. There is no contract and no payment in advance. The fees page explains it step by step.
Can I use an HSA or FSA card?
Yes, we take HSA and FSA cards like any other card. Check with your plan that therapy is an expense it can cover.
What happens in the first session?
It is a conversation to get to know each other. You say what you want, your therapist explains how they work, the limits of confidentiality and the possible risks and benefits of therapy, and together you decide whether to go on.
How often, and for how long?
A session lasts about 50 minutes. Your therapist suggests a pace, and you adjust it to your work and your week. Nobody promises you a number of sessions.
Are you licensed where I live?
Our therapists are licensed in Texas. By video we see people who are in Texas during the session; if you will be in another state, we cannot see you that day. The licenses are in the footer of this page.
What do I do in a crisis?
Do not wait for us to answer. Call or text 988, any time. In an emergency, call 911. This site is not monitored around the clock.
What is confidential, and what are the limits?
What you say in session stays in your record, and we share it only as the law allows. There are exceptions, for example if someone is in serious danger. Your therapist explains them in the first session.
Can you see my teenager?
We mostly see adults and couples. In family therapy, children can take part with the permission of a parent or guardian. How consent works depends on Texas law, and your therapist explains it.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for 24 hours' notice to change or cancel an appointment. If a work shift gets in the way, tell us as soon as you can and we will find another time.
