Services
Each one in Spanish or English, at the same cost per session.

A space for you, at your pace, to talk about what weighs on you at work, at home or in the family.
See individual therapy
80-minute sessions for two, or with the family, to talk more calmly and listen better.
See couples and families
From home, with the camera off if you like, or by an ordinary phone call. Without a private room and on limited data, it can work too.
See therapy by videoWho sees you
Both therapists see clients in Spanish, and in English if you prefer, in the office or by video for people in Texas. Each is licensed in Texas, with the license shown at the bottom of the page.

Where we practice
Parking in front of the entrance. If you prefer video or a phone call, you do not need to come in.
Get directions to McAllen officeTherapy by video
Not everyone has unlimited internet or a door that closes. We are licensed in Texas, so a video session, for anyone in Texas, fits your home, not the other way around.
With the camera off, a session uses less data. It can also be an ordinary phone call.
We pick a quieter hour together, with headphones and short answers, or from a parked car.
If the connection fails, we call the number you gave us and carry on by phone.

What almost everyone asks before the first session.
Serenya is out of network with every insurance plan: you pay for each session yourself. We do not take Medicare or Medicaid. If you want someone who bills your plan, we will gladly give you the names of clinics and colleagues in the Valley.
Out of network with every plan
No Medicare or Medicaid
You pay at the end of each session by card, including HSA and FSA cards. Before the first session we tell you in writing what each one costs. We ask for 24 hours' notice to change an appointment.
Each month we give you an itemized receipt (a superbill) with the dates and kind of session, to send to your plan, which may reimburse part of out-of-network care. It carries a diagnosis code your insurer can see. Your plan decides whether it pays anything; ask it before you start.
If you pay without insurance, you have the right to receive a written estimate of what your care will cost before you start. We give you one before the first session. If the final bill is $400 or more above the estimate, you can dispute it. The estimate is not a contract.
Your rights, at cms.gov/nosurprisesWe do not check benefits, because we do not bill your plan. If you want to know whether your plan reimburses, call it before the first session and ask about out-of-network mental health services.
A conversation of about 50 minutes to get to know each other: you say what you want and your therapist explains how they work, the limits of confidentiality and the possible risks and benefits of therapy. It is charged like any other session.

We are out of network with every plan, so you pay for each session yourself and, if your plan allows it, ask for reimbursement. We do not take Medicare or Medicaid. If you need someone who bills your plan, we will gladly give you names.
Before the first session we give you the cost of each one in writing. You pay at the end of the session, by card. There is no contract and no payment in advance. The fees page explains it step by step.
It is a conversation to get to know each other. You say what you want, your therapist explains how they work, the limits of confidentiality and the possible risks and benefits of therapy, and together you decide whether to go on.
Our therapists are licensed in Texas. By video we see people who are in Texas during the session; if you will be in another state, we cannot see you that day. The licenses are in the footer of this page.
What you say in session stays in your record, and we share it only as the law allows. There are exceptions, for example if someone is in serious danger. Your therapist explains them in the first session.
We ask for 24 hours' notice to change or cancel an appointment. If a work shift gets in the way, tell us as soon as you can and we will find another time.
Tell us which hours work for you and we will suggest an appointment, in the office or by video.
